      Occasionally I want to write: def fn[T](t: (T, T)): T = t match { case (x, `x`) => x case _ => //... } But it won't happen. ;)

      @propensive I see. You want to reference ids bound in the same pattern. Left-to-right? Looks a bit hacky to me, but YMMV.
