      @DRMacIver Last decade has had me toggling back-and-forth between Linux/OSX, unhappy with both for different reasons.

      @DRMacIver Honestly, if I was sure I'd get nice-looking fonts, good battery life/hibernation, and reliable wifi, I would switch back today.

      @d6 @DRMacIver I've never had a problem with fonts, though I see a lot of terrible screenshots. Turning hinting off and sub-pixel AA on WFM.

      @milessabin @DRMacIver Maybe I've just had bad luck? I dunno. My font experiences have ranged from barely OK to terrible.

      @d6 @DRMacIver IME hinting produces pretty bad results on Linux. Turning it off is a win for me.

      @milessabin @d6 @DRMacIver IME *auto*hinting is better than standard subpixel antialiasing, which is invariably better than manual hinting.
