      @MattRussellUK The idea that Scala needs to "slow down and innovate less" made Java what it is today.

      @propensive Java is a wildly successful language, now slowly ossifying into obsolescence. Isn't that the inevitable language lifecycle?

          @propensive I'd love to have our cake and eat it too, but there are strong underlying reasons why innovation slows with increasing adoption.
