I don’t, just wondering what I’m missing. I would also argue about the “useful for any...” statement; if numeric analysis (Spark et al) is the focus, sure. Otherwise this is way too deep for most - akin to requiring bitwise arithmetic of a full stack dev
I think the main point is "don't expect floating-point numbers to work like real numbers". It's still a tough question, though.
Add the small numbers to other small numbers first is best for the accuracy. I would expect a visible difference.
Yes, the difference is about 2.7e-12 for doubles, or 1.3 if we use floats!
