I've literally given up and backchannel for most things at this point. It's a horrible situation and it's only getting worse.
The worst thing about backchanneling is that it basically works while helping just one or at most two people.
Yep. It's also an exploitation of privilege. If I have a problem with one of your libraries, I can backchannel bug you until I get a resolution. Most people can't and that's really toxic and unfair.
And I might take ages to respond because so many others are doing the same. I always wanted to be better at curating answers, but too much satisfaction comes from the one happy customer, not the five minutes spent copy/pasting/editing afterwards and speculative future hordes.
