What English word would you use to describe a particular example of a type constructor, in the sense that `List[Int]` and `List[String]` are examples of `List`s? I'd like to avoid calling them "examples" if possible.
Maybe that was the subconscious concern I had with "applications" when @kubukoz suggested it. I'm tending more and more towards "variants", but I hadn't considered "specifications"... though it's almost as overloaded as "application".
