Probably tests are designed to run *anywhere*, so including them in macro code during compilation is no different. I used a trick suggested by Andrew Marki (a.k.a. Som Snytt) for triggering printing of the test report after compilation. This will make its way into Probably soon.

Could we use it to measure the optics generation macro in Monocle?

Yes. When I've added the general "macro" functionality to Probably, it would be a matter of wrapping any expression you want to measure in a block like, Macros.test(ctx)("test name") { <your expression> }.check() and it will include "test name" in a report at the end.
