I'm no longer interested in gray areas or giving him the benefit of the doubt, sorry. That ship has sailed.
I guess I'm doing some "aggressive marketing" and "arguing" right now too, and will continue to do so
Please don't bring him again in my mentions.

But then what is the point of the original comment? If instead you think you can change people then isn't starting from the root cause, e.g. the aggressive marketing, and not the symptom, e.g. Alex reacting, the better option?
-
My response was in two parts. ;) But Alex wasn't the first person I spoke to, though unfortunately it was my first public commentary. I've also spoken to John and Raúl about it, both recently and several times in the past.

But it would play out better if a precise, implied criticism (albeit one in a long series) were not treated as more than that. That's why I suggested *precision* in responses. Or to just ignore it. Instead, John wins more controversy points, and plus some positive reinforcement.

To be fair, it's a bit surprising (ok maybe not entirely surprising, but certainly extenuating) to constantly push your own ideas at the expenses of others. It's entirely possible to promote something you have devoted time and effort to without bringing everything else down.
-
I think this is the crucial bit that upsets people (including myself) the most: just promote your stuff without declaring everything else as inferior and obsolete. This is the sane behavior most people in the Scala community already have and the few notable exceptions stand out.

What is it being defended when you throw thousands of followers against a young library contributor, and how poor are your communication skills when you have to heavily edit the thread to come up on top.

Just to be clear, my meltdown is not just because he criticized cats or Akka. He has played me several times and cost me money. He also pops unannounced bashing arrow and he knows jack shit about Kotlin. I reached a tipping point and everyone in this community knows me for peace.
-
I'm not just defending my interests, I'm telling you I've been played and
@propensive he is playing you too and many others. I don't care if what he does is legal or not. The only reason I remain now this community its because I have a responsibility, not by choice. - Show replies

I can't stop reading this tweet. The way you convey your message is so weird. For instance, the criticism is perceived by Raúl (?), but John is just pushing libraries. The message is negative for Raúl, suggesting he may exhagerate, and positive for John.
-
Also it seems that you are pushing for some sort of "moral equivalence" where you are not surprised by two very different things and you put them one near the other to show they are similar. They are not. There is no equivalence between Raúl's and John's behavior.
