There is a lot of support for shaming John, nevertheless. And if I were to guess, I think it makes him less likely to satisfy those people with an apology. But the idea that an apology would fix everything is a bit of a fantasy.

I apologized so far in the year multiple times for wrongdoings to many people. It's not hard you just get started with "I apologize..." or "I'm sorry..." and that makes you more humble and accepted even when you fuck up in stunts like LC. He can do one at a time or a combo.

Then when people come back with the BS we can just link to his apology and all good, more companies will use Zio

I'm not defending the lack of an apology, but I strongly expect to read people saying, "yeah, but he only apologised because so many people put pressure on him to do it."

Sure. I'm only trying to explain it rather than justify it.

yeah me to Jon sorry, didn't mean to direct this at you, just venting out.

I'm going to regret jumping into this but I love the three of you and this pains me. Many of us agree John's dig was bad form and would point it out, though one issue re JDG is his Godwin distance of 0.7. Immediatly moving to discuss nazis in Scala makes many suspend judgement.

Not trying to minimise it for you Raul, I miss the context, history and I understand the responsibility you have with your company. I just think we can criticise bad behaviour with the force and outrage without recurring to conversation ending devices.

That said, I'm disappointed about the thread 'curating, block but especially Jon's keynote censoring, I didn't know that and I'm shocked.

I understood there were unrelated justifications for that, but I'm not able to go into them.

Thank you, I appreciate you cannot go into them so I'll try to be charitable and I hope John explains it at some point, though that doesn't lower my fury for not being able to watch it.

I voted to publish the keynote, but I also said if they felt strongly about not publishing it, I would support them (you can ask more details privately if you want to know). I'll see what became of it.
