please realize that you saying saying "but he's been so sweet whenever I've been with him", is worth nothing, there are hundreds of people that might be willing to offer such a thing up.... This isn't about you, or the people you've "witnessed extensively and exclusively"

I disagree that it's worth nothing. The complete absence of evidence is still a datapoint. We must have been to about 30 conferences together, and literally nothing about John's interactions with other people suggests he's anything other than friendly and welcoming to everyone.

Why do people keep saying he is nice in person when the accusations have nothing to do with that? Honest question

I think there's generally a lot of fog around what accusations are being made now, and what defense he deserves, and what he doesn't. Most people seem to have some qualifications to anything they say in favor or against him.

I really think JdG defenders conceptualize this as “Travis vs JdG” and then they just ask who they like better personally. I suspect they don’t actually read the posts. I have seen very few say “I read that and everything seems fine”.

Yeah, this was part of the reason I originally tried to leave my own experiences out of the posts entirely, but when you’re dealing with assholes who won’t read something like this anyway I’m not sure it matters.

It doesn't surprise me, but it bothers me, especially coming from people that ”cares about inclusion”. The original post is an anthology of experiences described by people that have been completely ignored since its publication
