So you agree that when De Goes wrote "[Yarvin] has never written any hate speech" and "He is not a white supremacist", he was defending a white supremacist? Because that's literally what he is threatening to sue me for writing.
I haven't seen anything which suggests John knew about it. The two quotes were several years apart, and I don't know how reasonable it is to expect someone to know what Yarvin wrote. I do, at least, think John should have had a better idea before claiming that.

I have a March 2016 thread with emails between De Goes and the Typelevel admins (this was before I quit) where similar passages are directly quoted, and pages including that quote are linked. I'm happy to add these emails to the documentation if that'd help.

we made SURE he know how racist this guy was. and This was on the heel of the when strangeloop had already, of course, publicly went through this... The thing that kills me is that he polled the URM scheduled speakers to see if they felt uncomfortable with Yarvin Speaking

I was a scheduled speaker, but I wasn't polled as I'm not an URM. I talked to multiple speakers that were polled. All of the ones I spoke to said that they answered that having moldbug speak made them feel uncomfortable

With all due respect, The Strange Loop drama happened in June 2015. It was an honest "not sure" rather than "surely not". You would be reasonable to request an answer to this.

As someone who spent a considerable amount of time with John during the period of time in question I can attest the following: 1) John was not aware of Yarvin before being made aware (after the blind acceptance) 2) Once made aware, he fully researched and did find those passages

The thread with Typelevel is more direct physical evidence of what I'm saying, but I just wanted to address your "lack of evidence" point a little more immediately. He didn't know of Yarvin before the acceptance. *After* the acceptance, he was fully and completely informed.

I can attest that i *personally* made JdG aware of several quotes of that nature by Yarvin, at the time of the LC cobtroversy. He knew.
