Here's my take on coding after hours: I do a lot of it. My wife, also a programmer, doesn't. She tends the garden, reads a lot & connects with family/friends. One of us is well adjusted, healthy & not potentially providing free labor to global tech empires with shitty ethics.

I guess it depends: Watching TV alone is probably similar to coding, but watching TV together is considered to be a shared/social activity by many people.
