I've read a lot of news articles this week about Apple adopting ARM processors for future Macs, but not one of them seemed to mention that ARM was created as a joint venture between Apple, Acorn and VLSI in 1990.

Ah, I remember the Newton, my uncle had one! Why do I have some recollection there was some chip design discussion about synchronous vs asynchronous processor architecture?
