I wonder if any of the original designers are still at Apple?
I've read a lot of news articles this week about Apple adopting ARM processors for future Macs, but not one of them seemed to mention that ARM was created as a joint venture between Apple, Acorn and VLSI in 1990.

The original designers (primarily Sophie Wilson and Steve Furber) were never at Apple. It was entirely Acorn's design, and Apple just helped to fund it as a spin-off so they could use the chips in the Newton.

And later there was powerpc with apple, ibm and Motorola that was when acorn was ditched for ibm and Motorola. And now arm is back? Acorn has been resurrected?

That summary is like the history of ARM before it actually became successful... I think that must have been written around 1995!
