I'm excited about #Scala3. I'm excited about Loom. I think that Scala 3 running on Loom will be the closest I'll get to a "gamechanger" to my everyday work in the next 10-15 years.

I expect significant gains due to more efficient memory layout, fewer allocations, less GC. But yes, will disproportionately benefit data intensive apps, which is the sort I touch the most, but also a fairly common use of Scala. Fingers crossed it all plays out well

Yes, definitely a huge benefit there. I'd put it in my "second tier of excitement" along with GraalVM. ;)
