Imo what LC did was break an implicit assumption of shared values - part of the community expected that a CoC would be interpreted in a way that would preclude Moldbug, and another part expected the reverse.

And so what we've seen is that one side pushed for more rigorous application of 'inclusive' principles, and the other called it a witch hunt and reverse-engineered a CoC that would justify their decisions. But the key is the loss of both side's trust in each other

And very well the trust was lost, because why on earth would I ever trust a nazi or anyone who defends a nazi? Well done that they outed themselves. And not to fail to address people in the conversation, well done Jon in specific!

Please don't do this. Have a little empathy and consider the effects of your accusations, as well the responsibility you shoulder in making them.

Clearly we're talking about cases where a breathing thinking person looked at evidence and decided for themselves they're dealing with scum. You seem to think everyone jumps at the opportunity like some mindless automaton. That's disingenuous.

You have accused others of being scum, nazis, and nazi defenders. I'm sure you agree that those are pretty serious accusations with specific meanings, and that they should not be made casually or without justification. Thinking, breathing people especially.
