i think it's kinda that 'features' are not additive or linear, like if you add or remove a 'feature', it can totally change the value of all the other 'features' in the software

I’m also always wondering about ontologies where a program is something deeper and different than its current manifestation. For example considering the entire branching repository of a program to be “the program”

something i've been thinking about lately is 'metarefactoring', by which i mean tool-aided refolding and editorializing the edit history of program to create targeted narratives designed to precisely expose some aspect of that program
