In the last decade I've written more Perl than Java. I've spent longer writing JavaScript than either, but produced less by any metric. However, I could write working JavaScript today without looking anything up, but barely a line of Perl, and not because of recency.

I have written a very beginner JavaScript recently after 7 years. I could see that the post ES6+ version, the syntax of JS is very similar to Scala and Fn programming. then why fn programmers hate JavaScript? just curious to know from experts. :)
JavaScript has always been more functional than Java, but also less typesafe, and I think that having a working mental model for its various type coercions is unnecessarily hard. I wouldn't say I hate it.
