been thinking a lot about the privilege surrounding the "spoiler culture" and how everything is considered spoilers these days. I grew up in a poor family so upon meeting someone with access to other media, we would implore them to tell us every details they could remember.

tangentially related: most of American media consumers want shit with a *twist*, sensational shows, where like, PLEASE NO SPOILERS somehow, like, we can't just enjoy art for the storytelling without there being some surprise at the end that we can't ruin
