Stockholm ARL. "Sorry, do you speak English?", I replied, embarrassed I knew no Swedish, but the customs official heard only "…speak English". "Speak English!!" she parroted, sarcastically. I was mortified. It was 2016. I'm still mortified. This is what it's like being British.

You could resolve this issue once and for all by getting a burgundy passport, friend. :-)
Mine is still burgundy for now, but its successor will be an offensive blue, unless I can find an easy way to get a burgundy one too...

Got mine a couple of weeks ago, still burgundy, so I fortunately should be able the blue one for 5 years at least.
