I'm actually wondering whether Flight Radar 24 (that's where the screenshot is from) have a system that has detected a suspicious lack of data coming from their plane-tracking servers, and their frontend has just plotted some fake data to make users think everything's ok...

When you zoom in a bit it is not as dense as usual, I think. Italy stands out. Empty skies except for a few cargo flights.
