50ms is 130ms off from the average. If you need movement as well it gets much slower. Though 50ms might be a good limit for this anyway.
This is a common UI flaw. Twitter search does it too. Human reaction time is about 50ms. UIs could quite reasonably detect if the button that gets the click/submit event has been there for under 50ms, and just not action it, with some nuanced indication that that's what happened.https://twitter.com/li_haoyi/status/1236896391995084800 …

It’s around 200 ms rather than 50 ms
