In Russia 456 professions are forbidden for women by law. They say in a year it will be “just 98”. What a relief.

No, of course not, just looking for a link so I can understand. I was recently talking about Valentina Tereshkova and how far ahead of the game Russia was with female pilots and cosmonauts, so was hoping for info on a different side of Russian cultural attitudes towards gender

It seems to be jobs which require heavy lifting or physical strength, but also includes things like driving trucks and welding. The list was carried over from Soviet times.

...fire fighters and list goes on. I don’t get it, what’s up with heavy lifting? Woman can be times stronger than men, faster, physically better prepared. It all comes down to the gender only. Which is idiotic and completely not fair.
