"Do not congregate in chokepoints because it prevents people from moving through them" is not a complicated principle and I do not understand why people so commonly fail to follow it.
Escalators might be the worst; it just seems so obvious to me that extra care is needed. Bonus points for doing it when dragging luggage! But blindly turning with a backpack on, or walking beside someone without leaving them space to get past a lamppost are common aberrances too.
