I currently need to check Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Discord, Slack, Gitter, Telegram, email and Github for notifications. It's completely ridiculous and I resent that this is what life in 2020 is like. But at least those nine windows tile nicely on my huge screen.

Sharing links to channels and having it just work including history was the big one. Anyone can follow a link to a gitter channel. If you don't know what IRC is, you need to choose and download a client, connect to a server from a dropdown list, and then join a server by
