I tried Sameroom, https://sameroom.io to bridge across chat clients. It worked but not smooth enough to keep it up. It was a while ago though, so maybe better now.
I'd like to try *something* like that. I hadn't heard of Sameroom before, and I sort of hoped that any solution to this obvious problem would be commensurately obvious...

They may have made it smoother and more reliable by now. I think my main issue at the time was that messages "bridged" was always from a Sameroom user, and people was constantly commenting on the ambiguity who the message was from and the additional noise.
