Yes. I asked for a table for one. (It probably wouldn't be fair to call it record otherwise...) Though I didn't make any other effort to get the menu.

I didn't want to embarrass the staff by making them think that I was upset about being ignored for an hour and a half, so I thought it better to just wait for them to realise or fate to intervene in some other way.

I'll admit that initially I completely failed to understand that the moral of this story is that no one acted for so very long to avoid embarrassment on either side. I thought this was a happy tale of allowing an introvert space and time to contemplate until he was ready.
