The irony is that our goal is frequently to make code more tedious.
I don't know. I feel like my need to automate almost every tedious repeatable task I encounter is driven by a combination of my intolerance of them and a capability of doing something about them. But I'm not sure where the causality lies.

I think lots, if not most, jobs have some amount of tedium, which people bear with (for one reason or another - perhaps the money, perhaps they enjoy the job, etc). I think you've just run out of patience for it after years. Reminds me of the "NO MODES" guy.
