I just reread your original tweet, and now I'm wondering if you're saying the opposite from what I thought you were. Do you think we became programmers because we tolerate tedium?

I don't know. I feel like my need to automate almost every tedious repeatable task I encounter is driven by a combination of my intolerance of them and a capability of doing something about them. But I'm not sure where the causality lies.
