What do people use to produce diagrams on linux these days? Ideally, it’d work for someone who can’t draw to save his life, save / export to svg. My ideal tool would be graphviz, if only there were ways of cohercing it to specific layouts when I have something concrete in mind.
You'll find this funny, but in about 2007 I wrote an SVG generation library, and then just coded up my drawings using function composition and arithmetic. I can't recommend this approach more.

I actually considered using
@noelwelsh ‘s doodle library for that purpose. The only downside is that drawing is one of the many areas I’m spectacularly bad at, and having some sort of tool to at least prevent the more ludicrous mistakes would be helpful...Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
