I bought a new laptop, and I can't install Linux on it, so until I can, I'm just going to have to coerce Fury into working on Windows.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 (13"). Not a single Linux installer I've tried (Arch, Gentoo, Ubuntu, Mint) will boot as far as a command prompt.

Hey, how come you didn't buy a laptop known to support linux, like thinkpad, let's say? Do you need other windows software on it?

I chose it for having a fast, recent CPU and a good keyboard. And because I had no idea that there were laptops which won't even *boot* Linux. I've always been able to fix every other driver issue I've cared about, and common, mainstream computers are more likely to be supported.

I like your optimism. A couple of years ago I went to a Ms store to check out the surface tablet models for drawing. Believe it or not it "dripped" ink, i.e. as I was drawing and holding the pen in the air black dots appeared below the pen tip. Never looked at Ms surface since.

They can certainly tell when the pen is hovering above the screen. But if the touchscreen ever even works, I usually turn it off anyway.
