We've just merged support for source-based compiler plugins into Fury, so we can now build Cats entirely from sources (with Macro Paradise and Kind Projector).

Scalac seems to cache plugins aggressively, so we're still a little way away from my dream of having a tight iteration cycle where you edit the sources of a compiler plugin and immediately see the effect this has on a downstream project. Only a little way, though. Close, even!
