Bee Scala was one of the smallest Scala conferences I've ever been to, but also one of the best. I know what it takes to run an event, and I saw the dedication and passion that @c05m1x put into @BeeScalaConf, and the debt he feels to a community that backed him when he needed it.
That love for a community was reflected in every aspect of the conference: the catering and venue were exquisite, the talks were great, the people were friendly, welcoming and engaging. But above all, it was @c05m1x's personal vision, care and attention which made it so special.
Apparently Bee Scala 2020 isn't necessarily going to happen: events like this need attendees to break even on costs. So I hope that if you're reading this you'll give @c05m1x every encouragement to run the event again next year: it would be a huge shame if Scala lost this event.
And I hope that if the idea appeals to you—a friendly conference in a castle in a beautiful little corner of Europe, where you can meet people and learn about Scala—then think about coming next year! You won't regret it.
