That's almost the method I hope would still work... but are the IDs no longer sequential (or, at least, in distributed sequential blocks)? Apparently Twitter gets around 6K tweets per second on average, so at a quiet time of the week, maybe 1K/s.

If you could send two tweets as close together as you can, check the difference in their IDs, then post a third which presumes the same gap in IDs, if that turnaround-time is a couple of seconds, it wouldn't take too many attempts to get lucky...

There are other variables since the ID generation is distributed. I doesn’t seem possible
