It is definitely possible. There's at least one other case (than the one already mentioned in the replies) where this has happened, but I don't remember who the author was.

There was a guy who did this back in the early days of twitter, when tweet ids were sequential and twitter was still pretty small. He wrote a script to just try guessing and posting the tweet, deleting if it failed, and trying again until he got one.

That's almost the method I hope would still work... but are the IDs no longer sequential (or, at least, in distributed sequential blocks)? Apparently Twitter gets around 6K tweets per second on average, so at a quiet time of the week, maybe 1K/s.

No, but I always wish I could put the file hash of a file containing a bunch of data records in the records in the file.
