Having not really ever used an IDE (despite starting to appreciate Metals a bit recently), I hope I'll be able to give an account which is independent of any tooling presumptions.

I suppose you will only have a meaningful experience to evaluate this if you do it on a code basis you share with 5-10 other developers (with possibly varying editor settings)

and this is linked of the scala (and esp. Scala 2 - >3) context, not the inherent value of the proposed style (which I think I prefer in most cases)
