You could try an Anki-based. There's surely a good selection of French flashcards available for free somewhere.

I found it worked quite well teaching me basic Polish vocabulary. I could just flick through the cards on my phone, when not doing anything else, absorbing the information in a vaguely gamified way, without having to think about the process of learning at all.
