That’s a good news
It's not that good, though. The gender distribution of every meetup I've ever done is incredibly imbalanced, but modulo my poor memory, I think it's better, on average, than it was five years ago.

I’d say I was polite and a little sarcastic. Even looking at the picture you can see how many empty spots are there and they probably weren’t taken by girls were they? It might be “better than five years ago”, like by maybe ten girls over the whole comunity (exaggeration) it so.

I mean google science achievements in this past five years? How big is that “better” looks comparing to that? People found new planet suitable for humanity to live on (possibly, that’s not the point) and we can’t make more comfortable zone where people talk about simple coding.
