I have a new split keyboard, which could be lifechanging: I have bad posture, and even after a day, it feels more comfortable for my back. There's one problem: it seems to have an undocumented kill-the-entire-OS feature, which can be reliably triggered by pressing [num lock].
The frequency of these sorts of issues seems to be going down, maybe because I'm slowly learning more about how everything in my OS works, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone starting out. When I've used Windows or OSX, I've felt utterly bewildered by the lack of debuggability.

And I hope it didn't sound like I'm competing on "smartness"... ;) I kind of wanted people to subjectively judge my OS choices, and maybe the stubbornness with which I stick to them, as both dumb and smart...
