Scala Days is the premier conference in the Scala community, so if your talk wasn't accepted, there's only one thing to do: try again next year, try harder, push the limits further, work harder to create an excellent proposal. And trust that you'll have more luck next time!

Oi. I appreciate your intent to be positive and inspiring but I strongly disagree with the content of your msg. Try harder? Push the limits? The committee is free to chose whatever proposals they want but don't pretend that they're choosing solely on effort and limit-pushing.

My proposal was about something that AFAIK is a world-first and pushes all kinds of limits in practice, yet I'm sure there'll be Akka talks. Trying again next year is great advice but please don't tell me that effort/quality/merit is lacking and will need to be improved before

resubmission. I'm fine that I wasn't accepted and again, I appreciate your intent but I don't appreciate what feels like an inaccurate value judgement/critique on (at least) me.

Yes, sorry it came across that way. I'm gutted that my own talk wasn't accepted, but the
@scaladays CfP committee have a very difficult job: they have to reject a majority of talks, and I bet that most of the rejected ones were great too.1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -

Because it's in their interests to produce the best programme they can for Scala Days. Their professional judgement is subject to scrutiny, and I bet they are doing their best to minimise the amount of heat they get for the decisions they're forced to make.

Got it now, sorry for the misinterpretation! You're right, of course!
