Yes, sorry it came across that way. I'm gutted that my own talk wasn't accepted, but the @scaladays CfP committee have a very difficult job: they have to reject a majority of talks, and I bet that most of the rejected ones were great too.

We're competing at the top level for the most prestigious talks at the biggest conference with the biggest audience of the Scala calendar. It's no wonder that it's really competitive.

Think how much pressure we put on accepted talks :D whoever got accepted must be pretty stressed by now... Unless it's a corporate bullshit talk, then it doesn't matter

But it's not a Lightbend conference, this year. It's organised by EPFL and the Scala Center. The program committee has people who work/worked for Lightbend, but they're not in the majority, and they have plenty of Scala credentials beside their roles with Lightbend.
