DUH. Yesterday I saw @propensive had made some changes on Fury, and I just happily went to my fork, reseted it and refreshed it. And this morning I realised I had the whole fury dependency tree set up... and hadn't made a copy of the layer 
Oh, you mean you accidentally just git-reset the layer to the dustbin of eternal damnation? I am actually planning something which would make this possibility avoidable...
