@propensive it had to be during the French Rentrée :(
I even checked the French calendar... Noix, Truite, Citron, Cardère and Nerprun in the middle of Fructidor. No mention of this "Rentrée".

yeah, these pesky revolutionaries, spending time harvesting fruits and chopping heads, but as soon as they need to explain French cultural exception, no-one there! (too many heads on floor, certainly). I believe "talk to the snails" has a whole chapter about "la rentrée".
