What do you mean by "untagged"? Do you mean you don't have to define them with a type definition before you use them?

Tagged means that the value will have some bits of information to discriminate b/w the types. In Scala this means boxing in a class. Untagged means you don’t, so unboxed and you do your own discrimination. This is `A | B` vs `Either[A, B]` for example. Checkout TypeScript.
