There are already very real consequences and harm being done to everyone not looking sufficiently German. Staying silent is not a measured response.

Also, it's not 1% of 1%. We're seeing large-scale effects of Facebook-driven radicalisation of entire cities spilling over onto the street. There is research on this.

the hard in a proportionate response is to find what is proportionate and how you assess the externalities. For ex, given what is happening with climate (and with the level of knowledge we now have), one can argue that taking planes is a crime against humanity.
