I just tried to pay for my lunch in an Italian restaurant in the Lake District using a credit card, only to discover they only accepted cash. Thankfully, all the staff were Polish, so they gladly accepted my 100 złoty instead. Brexiteers would be outraged if they ever found out.

Ugh, thanks for reminding me cash is still a thing up there, am heading up there in a couple weeks, will have to figure out how to get some.

There's even going to be a Post Office where I'm staying. (And not much else - I've upgraded, remoteness wise, from the sort of places you'd put us up in, but the Stockholm syndrome still lingers.)
