Anyone in the US still awake and knows how to deal with a potential immigration problem? A friend (with a student visa) may be stuck or detained in the airport.

sorry Lars! And everyone else who was worried! They eventually let me leave. My school accidentally terminated my student status. And it took the immigration office a long time to sort out/ prove my status, since it was Sunday night.
That sounds like a pretty egregious error... If it makes you feel any better, they frequently stop me for at the US border, too.
