#BikeChi if you live in either the old or new Ward 1, you can vote for a 1.5 mile protected bike lane on California, from Milwaukee to Division, connecting the 606 & Humbolt Park. Signing up & voting for the protected bike lane is easy, and there's a good chance we can win! 1/n

Political retaliation by the city against its residents is unacceptable. We all have a right to participate in public discourse and speak truth to power, especially when its concerns the future of our city and the fate of our relationship with a corrupt utility.

Yesterday, our comrade and elected volunteer Campaigns Coordinator, Sean, was removed from a City Council meeting by police officers after giving a public comment in opposition to Mayor Lightfoot’s proposed contract with ComEd.

Brandon Johnson is the real deal, folks. I’m so proud we’ve endorsed him. We need a mayor who will listen to and collaborate with and invest in the people of Chicago. And I believe with all my heart that’s exactly the kind of mayor that Brandon will be.

We believe @Brandon4Chicago is the right choice for Mayor of Chicago. He listens and collaborates β€” and builds bridges instead of raising them. He understands that our transportation systems are failing us, and we believe he will fight for better for all Chicagoans.

Tyre Nichols was killed by Black, college educated cops who received extra training & passed required psychological exams How’s that β€œWe-don’t need-to-defund-the-police-we-just-need-a-better-trained-more-educated-more-diverse-police-force” thing working out?

A main "argument" in favor of qualified immunity is that police have to make split-second decisions, and abolishing it might lead to officers hesitating when needed, but Uvalde has proven that even with qualified immunity, hundreds of cops will still hesitate when needed.

It is absolutely insane that people have to donate to the family of Tyre Nichols to cover different costs and expenses while the Memphis PD receives 38% of that city’s budget. We can’t keep crowdsourcing healing while public funds pay for death and destruction.

This is such despicable propaganda from Ram Emanuel's brother. My great-grandmother lived to 96, her youngest sister to a similar age. To this day, they are some of the most vibrant people I've ever been blessed to know. Age or physical impairment does not make people disposable!

2. Death is a loss but living too long is also a loss. It leaves most of us debilitated and unable to contribute to society. We are no longer remembered as being vibrant and engaged, but instead as feeble and ineffectual. thetimes.co.uk/article/zeke-e

I wanted to highlight this: the Texas Center for Infectious Disease treats tuberculosis patients. Their staff uses the Honeywell North 7700 P100 elastomeric mask. They have had ZERO infections among staff since *1996*. This is why I wear a 7700 (and other P100s).
