If it’s not a dictatorship of the proletariat, commodity production remains the primary regulating factor in the allocation of labor, there is exploitation, markets remain the dominant mode of exchange, and the wealth of society belongs not to the proletariat...

but to the bourgeoisie, it hardly seems appropriate to call a government “socialist.”

The only pro-capital players in this story are the people traffickers and the warmongers who in the past years destabilised and destroyed most of North Africa and of the middle East.

Do the workers control their own labor? Last I checked it wasn't so for most of them. It's a bit of a stretch to call Spain 'socialist' then I think.
-
Not really, the government owning something means, well, the government owns it & as we know from the USSR & China, the government's interest don't always equal the people's. Regardless, that's not what my tweet was addressing, I asked if the workers own their labor.
-
Do the workers still toil for a CEO or boss? Does a bourgeoisie class extract surplus value from the product of the worker? Is work democratically controlled by the worker? Are all workplaces worker-cooperatives?

The same government who is holding political prisoners, has people in exile for singing anti monarchy songs and who has demonstrably corrupt people as ministers. Yes, professor, so much to learn, will you praise Turkey next?
-
Spain has fought a right-wing burgeois nationalist rebellion in Catalonia. The role of the Spanish government in Catalonia is a progressive one. On the contrary, the role of the Turkish government is utterly reactionary

The bill should be sent to the US. The failed state of Libya was created by the US attack by Clinton and Obama. This has caused complete chaos. Slavery, rape, murder...they should have thought about this before they killed Gaddafi.

Agreed, however just a minor point - these people aren't immigrants or migrants, they are refugees from the nations we've destroyed and are destroying - Iraq, Libya, Syria - more to come after the destruction of Iran, Russia and China.
