The #SARS_CoV2 pandemic could have been prevented - my opinion, at virology blog. Please take the time to read it and be outraged. https://bit.ly/2xnKjxh pic.twitter.com/qEXCkkx5CB

The 2008 world financial crash could've been prevented. The fires in Australia could've been prevented. Extinction of hundreds of species of animals every year can be prevented. The global warming can be prevented. But due to the nature of humans these are all false statements.

Some argue we shouldn’t be looking for more bat coronaviruses b/c of potential for accidental release in lab/field due to improper biosafety equipment. IC’s closer look into this will be critical for future work of the group you cite in your blog.

Viruses have spread from other animals to humans throughout our history. There is no evidence to suggest SARS2 is the result of an accidental release. Moratoriums on research into these viruses just puts us at greater risk for future outbreaks as @profvrr points out here.
